ADOPT A FAMILY
Westview PTSA is looking for a strong support this year as we gear up to serve our PUSD families in need at the holidays. Our school is focused on maintaining positive relationships and keeping a close connection with our families, which is especially important for those families in need as a result of difficult circumstances, and who otherwise wouldn't have the resources to celebrate the holidays. This program provides a wonderful holiday experience for families at a critical time in their lives.
Please stop and think about HOW, not if, you can make a difference this year. There are many ways to help!
How can I help?
There are several ways you can make a difference and be involved in the Adopt a Family program:
Can you adopt a family as a class OR as a club OR as a department?
Can you pass the word along to students to participate?
Would an individual student’s family like to adopt a family?
Would you like to take up a collection of gift cards?
Would you like to donate a gift card(s)?
Gather a team together to coordinate fulfilling a family wish list. Book clubs, sports teams, families are great groups to bring together. Homeroom teachers and Club Advisors can assign this to a student lead (The student lead will be eligible for community service hours).
We need gift cards from local stores and gas stations, including: Vons, Ralphs, Stater Bros., Chevron, Shell, Target and Wal-Mart, etc. Gift cards should be in $25 increments. We also need restaurant gift cards in smaller increments to: Subway, Jamba Juice and other student preferences.
It costs approximately $350 to sponsor a family. Raise funds that a trusted Adopt a Family team member will use to purchase wish list items.
REMEMBER: your donations are TAX-DEDUCTIBLE!
Any generosity you can show this holiday season will mean the world to our families in need.
